Pig Stew – the reviews!

After a nervous wait the cast, crew and I are thrilled to read a raft of fabulous reviews! Here are the latest ones:

From the Newcastle Journal (in the print version we’re reviewed on the same page as Alan Bennett!)

From Spike Mike is Breaking a Leg (online theatre reviewer)

From Jesmond Local (an innovative online hyperlocal newspaper staffed largely by students from Newcastle University media department)

What can I say? It was brilliant. Great reviews rolling in, rightly. Tense, creepy, black as night humour, kept the watchers watching. At times their laughs had more of the graveyard about them than gravy!

Good staging ideas (loved the monologues), some good acting (‘Louise’ looked convincingly mad, ‘Denise’ convincingly blonde, and Mr Wolf/Fox convincingly predatory).

    Glad I don’t eat pig!

I confess I never got to see it but just wanted to say how delighted I was when I drove past the People’s and saw your name. Brilliant reviews. Hope I get another chance. Well done you!

Hi Karen. Hopefully the play will be taken up by a touring company and you may have a chance to see it still.

  4. Sorry this is hideously late, Fiona, but congratulations! Fab reviews. Delighted to hear it went so well.
