Oh, and forgot to add, you might just have a chance to see the Sarajevo play. It's been shortlisted for the People's Play award in the North East of England and if it wins, will be staged in May next year. I shall know by the end of December. The action of the play takes place in Banja Luka but the events that took place in Sarajevo 10 years before have a huge impact on the characters lives today.

Congratulations Verica! Did you write your piece in German or English and have it translated? Don't forget, you can also submit the same article to a magazine in another country. I'll be covering that in my session on copyright, libel and finance, next week. This week's session on approaching editors and writing proposals will be up tomorrow.

Hi, Fiona

Thanks for all the tips and the excellent advice. Last week I had a 500 word travel article accepted by MMM Magazine, on Campingpark Lackenhauser in East Germany.

I was very interested to read that you've travelled extensively in the Balkans - my native territory. I've been dying to show Sarajevo to my husband, but we cannot get insurance for Bosnia. We did manage to get to Medjugorje this year in a hired car, which had its own insurance.

I'd love to read your play on Sarajevo (or see it performed).

Thanks for the tip on the Corder book. Always good to have a recommendation (as there are so many "how to" books that aren't exactly worth as much as one would hope.
