Non-fiction writing course

For all writers in the NE of England: explore all kinds of non-fiction writing – autobiography, specialist articles, opinion pieces, writing for the internet, travel writing and much more, in this 8-week course. Starting Friday, 5 October 2007, 10.30am at the Centre for Lifelong Learning, Newcastle.

For those who can’t get to the venue, I’ll be posting some of the highlights on this blog and students can log on and discuss the material.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Letters to magazines and newspapers
  • Finding your style: using journalistic or fiction techniques in your writing.
  • Blogging
  • Articles for specialist magazines
  • Syndication and foreign markets
  • Reworking for domestic markets.
